Mezzo-soprano Christina Rosas performs regularly in the Greater NYC area in recitals, outreach, opera & ensembles. Most recently she completed her first CD with collaborative artist, Jason Hart. Their CD contains selections by Granados, Gershwin, Mozart and others. Please inquire for a complimentary copy. Ms. Rosas is a founding member of
Elixer Opera, an ensemble that performs regularly to raise money for various charities. She is also the alto section leader of St. Gregory's Catholic church in Manhattan.
Ms. Rosas brought in 2007 as a member of the Opera Colorado Outreach Ensemble where she will perform throughout the state in operas & scenes. The ensemble performed for over 50,000 people statewide. She sang the title role in the opera "La Curandera" which was commissioned by
Opera Colorado as well as the role Theodorine in "The Island of Tulipatan".
Recent opera credits include Prince Orlofsky in Die Fledermaus, Annio in La Clemenza di Tito, Pitti-Sing in The Mikado, Hansel in Hansel and Gretel, Marcellina in Le Nozze di Figaro and Dinah in Trouble in Tahiti.
Ms. Rosas was a first place winner at the Civic Morning Musicals Competition held in Syracuse, NY in 2005. She was a two-time first prize winner of the NATS Mid-South Regional Competition as well as winning first prize at the NYC NATS Regional Competition in 2005. Ms. Rosas was a finalist at the Annual Classical Singer AudComps Young Artist Competition in New York City.
She completed her Master of Arts degree at Middle Tennessee State University where she was awarded a full graduate teaching assistantship under Dr. Christine Isley-Farmer. In March 2003, she was a top prize winner of the Orpheus National Vocal Competition in Murfreesboro, TN and a two-time first prize winner of the NATS Mid-South Region Advanced Women Competition. While earning her Bachelor of Music degree she was fortunate to have studied with world-renown mezzo-soprano, Beverly Wolff.
